DJ Reflection has been Producing, engineering, and DJ'ing Hip Hop and R&B music for over a decade. Within this time frame he has worked with over a hundred other producers, rappers, singers, DJs and audio engineers. Reflection’s production style has a soulful sound with hard hitting “boom bap” drums reminiscent of the middle school hip hop era (93-97). His biggest influences include Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Large Professor, Jay Dee, Eric Sermon and Alchemist. You may have heard some of his production, or him spinning on underground radio shows (RadioHipHop.com) and mix tapes throughout the tri-state area. .
Reflection’s first break into the industry was an assistant engineering gig he received right out of audio school. While in the studio, he learned recording and mixing techniques from the pros. He has worked sessions with Janet Jackson, Eminem, Rockwilder, De La Soul, HiTek, Method Man (to name a few), and has tracked multiple sessions for Redman. It wasn’t long before he started freelance engineering and establishing a client base of his own. With studio skills and a steady client base backing him up, he decided to pursue his passion of producing and arranging.
He realized his passion was becoming more than a hobby when a promo he produced for 107.5, received love from the Queen of media herself, Wendy Williams. Wendy said she loved the beat, cuts, lyrics and underground feel of the whole promo. Since then, Reflection has produced multiple albums and singles for underground rap artists and up and coming singers. He has even ghost produced many projects as well. Reflection is currently working on albums for ID (Polo BIG, O.P.E), Born Talent, 456 (Kay-O Flow, Priceless, Anonimus), Mr. Tibbs, and the title track for an independent film with rapper Polo BIG. He is looking to escalate his production career and also pursue film scoring in the near future.
Anonimus is currently rapping up recording on his second LP titled "POCKET FULLA POEMS AND A SKETCH BOOK FULLA DREAMS" with features from Ooge, Pricless, and Kay- Flow, with Production by himself, Dj Reflection and The Avid Record Collector. The album focuses on he's real life experiences and passions. He's also currently working on his collaborative project with his group 4five6 consisting of members Kayo-Flow, Priceless Himself and Dj Reflection "A CAUSE FOR CONCERN" Should be a mid summer release and is definitely going to set the world on its ear.
